U.S. President Donald Trump commented on the alleged cockpit attack aboard an Israel-bound Flydubai flight, saying the co-pilot who allegedly stabbed Indian Captain Smit Machchhar was “perhaps a terrorist or perhaps a whack job.” Trump praised Machchhar, who, despite being badly wounded, reportedly managed to open the cockpit door and call for help. The aircraft plunged thousands of feet before passengers and crew intervened and helped bring it safely to the ground in Saudi Arabia. The motive remains under investigation.
